As an experienced Senior Manager in the Ontario Public Service, Ray has extensive experience in organizational delivery, conflict management, issues resolution and human resources leadership. With over 30 years as a “people leader” and manager, Ray has accumulated a wealth of experience in effective human resource management, internal workplace investigations and conflict resolution.
In 2008, Ray led the Southern Region of MNR to the Silver Star level in the Progressive Excellence Program from the National Quality Institute. This is only the 3rd time an Ontario Public Service work unit or Ministry had achieved this level.
He is recognized as strong people leader, in tune with workplace chemistry, a collaborative manager with work unions and a progressive facilitator to bring the best out of people.
Ray Bonenberg has been an Associate of the Delfi Group since 2010. He has retired from the Ontario Public Service (Ministry of Natural Resources) in 2009 from the position of Regional Director for the Southern Region based out of Peterborough (600 staff, $42 million annual budget). As a manager/leader in the OPS, Ray has demonstrated a passion for leading organizations in continuous learning, ensuring a workplace free of discrimination and harassment, and quality improvement.
Throughout his career, he has been a people leader of various work groups in 9 different locations in Ontario. He has also been exposed to various high level public processes relating to contentious resource management issues, aboriginal land claim negotiations and mediating aboriginal blockades.
He has also conducted approximately 30 investigations relating to workplace harassment and discrimination within the OPS over a 35-year period. Many of the resolutions from these incidents necessitated conflict resolution and mediation processes to restore the workplace to ensure functional working relationships happened.
