As an educator having taught 25 years, Geoffrey possesses much experience working with people in the public sector. During his career, he served in many different leadership positions. These roles include the following: Elementary Instructional Coach, Learning Support Teacher, Learning Resource Teacher, Français à Coeur chair for the Eastern Ontario Staff Development Network (EOSDN) and as Diplôme d’études de langue française (DELF) Trainer.
As instructional coach, Geoffrey mentored educators and Principals as well as led groups in professional learning communities to reflect on existing practices and help them identify changes that would help enhance their professional skills.
As DELF trainer, he facilitated groups to obtain their certification as assessors as well as present on a variety of topics, both locally and provincially. These experiences have honed his skill set to be an excellent bilingual communicator who is adaptable, collaborative, solution-focused and results-oriented. In addition, Geoffrey strives to be innovative, purposeful, and flexible.
Social issues such as justice, diversity and equity are important for Geoffrey. For many years, he assisted as a steering committee member and presenter for the Rainbow Youth Forum, a day of awareness and celebration of LGBTQ+ students within the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB), along with being an equity school representative for many years.
